ANKARA - Deniz Baykal, chairman of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), said Tuesday that "Turkey must conduct military operations in north of Iraq until terrorists are completely eradicated."
Speaking at his party's weekly group meeting at the Turkish parliament, Baykal indicated that "the goal of cross border operations is not to provide temporary relief from terrorism."
"We must continue military operations until terrorists are thrown out of northern Iraq and they are completely rendered ineffective," Baykal noted.
I congratulate the Turkish Armed Forces for the exceptional success it has demonstrated in waging cross border operations against terrorist organization PKK, Baykal also said.
