ISTANBUL - Turkish police continued Tuesday to interrogate a man detained with explosives in Mecidiyekoy, Istanbul and three other suspects.
Police detained a person with a false ID card on Monday with 3.5 kilograms of A-4 explosives in his back pack. Then, police raided a house in Yenibosna neighborhood and seized more explosives and took into custody three more people.
On the other hand, police have tightened security measures at subway stations and bus stops and around public buildings.
Istanbul's Ataturk Airport is among the places where police took tight security measures. Police and special security units are asking passengers to open up their suitcases if they deem it necessary. They urge passengers to pass through x-ray devices and even ask them to take their shoes off.
