GENEVA - Turkish Labor and Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu said on Monday that Turkey attached great importance to finding a peaceful solution to Palestinian issue through negotiations as soon as possible.
Basesgioglu delivered a speech in the 92nd Working Conference of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Geneva.
He said that ILO director general's report on ''situation of workers in Arab lands under occupation'' showed once again importance of economic, social and humane cost of chronic insolubility in the Middle East issue. Basesgioglu noted that the report put forth that ILO should continue its support on this issue.
Basesgioglu stated that Turkish government also decided to make a modest contribution to ''Palestinian fund for unemployment and social security'' which was formed under ILO.
Labor and Social Security Minister Basesgioglu that Turkish government has fulfilled important reforms on economic and social fields last one year.
Noting that Turkey approved all basic agreements of ILO, Basesgioglu said that Turkey showed once again its political will on the way of supporting basic principles of the ILO by approving totally 56 ILO agreements.
Basesgioglu will meet with Italian Minister of Labor and Welfare Roberto Maroni.
