Turkish Premier Holds Phone Conversation With U.S. President

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned U.S. President George W. Bush, discussing "the progress made in the fight against PKK terrorism," sources said Monday.
The two leaders expressed pleasure on the cooperation against the terrorist organization PKK and commitment to continue with intelligence sharing.
Bush reiterated that terrorist PKK was not only an enemy of Turkey but also an enemy of the U.S. and Iraq, calling the terrorist organization "the common enemy."
Erdogan stressed that Turkey would continue to cooperate with the U.S. and Iraqi governments in its fight against the terrorist organization.
Turkish premier also expressed his country`s continued support for Iraq`s integrity and stability, adding that Turkey`s cross-border military operations in Iraq`s north only aimed at the terrorist organization PKK.
Erdogan also told the U.S. president that Turkey would never take a negative stance towards the Iraqi people living in the north.
