Commission Convenes To Fix Minimum Wage

ANKARA - The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission held its third meeting on Monday in Ankara in a bid to set the minimum wage to be valid in 2008.
The commission consists of five representatives of workers, five representatives of employers and five government representatives.
The minimum wage is currently net 419 new Turkish liras (YTL) for workers above 16. (1 USD=1.19 YTL)
The government program for 2008 foresees six percent rise in minimum wage in January.
