Turkish Foreign Minister Gul Leaves For Egypt

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul left for Egypt on Sunday.
Gul will hold meetings in Cairo prior to the 31st Meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Foreign Ministers which will be held in Istanbul between June 14-16.
Gul told reporters prior to his departure that OIC Foreign Ministers meeting would be held in Istanbul in coming days and he was paying visits to participant countries before this meeting, adding that he would visit Egypt within that scope.
Noting that he would be received by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Gul said that he would meet with Secretary General Amre Moussa of the Arab League. He added that he would exchange views on issues concerning OIC and especially Iraq and Palestine issues.
Noting that he would give information about developments in Cyprus issue, Gul said that he would ask support for Turkish candidate for the office of OIC Secretary General.
Gul will convey written message of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer to Mubarak.
Gul will return to Turkey on Monday.
