300 TERRORISTS KILLED
The results of the operation conducted by Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) against terrorist organization PKK (in the north of Iraq) on December 16th have become clear. According to the results gathered by Turkish and American intelligence units, at least 300 terrorists were killed in the operation and main radio station on Mount Qandil was destroyed. Office of Firat News Agency on Mount Qandil was also destroyed during the operation. Many PKK terrorists escaped from terrorist camps and surrendered after the operation.
7,400 CASES FOR PRIVATIZATIONS
According to a report prepared by Istanbul Chamber of Independent Accountants, privatizations worth 30 billion USD were made in Turkey during the past 22 years. 7,400 lawsuits were filed against these privatizations. 4,000 of these cases are still continuing.

HERE IS CIVILIAN OPERATION PLAN
The government's civilian operation package, which aims to stop participation in the terrorist organization PKK and to have terrorists return home, is rapidly taking on a shape.
Parties which have influence over the region such as village headmen, imams, teachers and gendarmerie forces will pay visits to families whose sons or daughters join terrorist activities.
Moreover, Article 221 which regulates the repentance issue, will be applicable for the terrorists who surrender on their own will regardless of whether they committed crime or not. The article will not be valid for head terrorist Abdullah Ocalan and other leaders of terrorist organization PKK.
SHE WILL FIGHT FOR RIGHTS OF SAUDI ARABIAN WOMEN
The Saudi Arabian government, for the first time in the country's history, made an application to UN requesting an examination of the problems of women living in Saudi Arabia.
Within this framework, UN's Turkish rapporteur Prof. Yakin Erturk will hold a series of talks in Saudi Arabia for two weeks and prepare a report afterwards. Erturk previously prepared reports for more than 10 countries.

"DIYARBAKIR COULD BE CALLED AMED"
Political scientist Prof. Mumtazer Turkone said terrorist organization PKK was being eliminated and all the parties --Turkey, USA, regional administration in the north of Iraq, Iran and Syria-- were allies in this elimination process.
"The army has changed its view regarding the solution of the Kurdish issue. The distance between Justice and Development (AK) Party and the army concerning such issue has vanished. Now we are in the phase that a political solution is the only way," Turkone said.
"Returning home and amnesty are not simple steps, the process will continue with steps such as writing a petition in one's mother tongue, freedom of expression in mother tongue and changing the name of a city with a referendum by the region's people. It has no drawbacks. Diyarbakir's name could be changed into 'Amed'," he added.
BOMB TO QANDIL MEANS BOMB TO IRBIL, BARZANI
During his visit to the villages at Qandil prior to the latest operation, Massoud Barzani, leader of the regional administration in Iraq, said Qandil was no different than Irbil for them. Meanwhile, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the central administration in Iraq was Turkey's interlocutor, not Barzani.

GUL'S FIDELITY
Turkish President Abdullah Gul assigned his old friend Mehmet Bahaeddin Cebeci as the chief adviser to the Presidential Palace. Cebeci was a deputy candidate from Justice and Development (AK) Party in the latest parliamentary elections, but he was not elected. After Gul became the prime minister of the 58th government following the general elections held on November 3rd, 2002, he assigned Cebeci as the adviser to the prime ministry.
ANOTHER STRIKE ON MOUNT QANDIL
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) waged another aerial operation on Sunday on the Mount Qandil where PKK terrorists take shelter. The operation continued for three hours. After F-16s and F-4s bombed several main targets, they returned safely to the bases in eastern province of Malatya and southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

PKK IN DIFFICULT SITUATION
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has intensified its operations against PKK elements in the north of Iraq, causing difficulties within the terrorist organization. The pressure on terrorist organization PKK may cause dissolution of the organization. PKK did not stage any attack since the start of the operation. On the other hand, leading PKK terrorists have been hiding.
RECONNAISSANCE FLIGHTS
Super Cobra attack helicopters which take off from military units in the southeastern province of Sirnak have been carrying out reconnaissance flights over Mount Cudi and Mount Gabar since Sunday morning. On the other hand, land troops also conducted mine-sweeping operations. Sikorsky helicopters transported military personnel and ammunition to rural areas.

TURKEY BOMBS, WORLD SUPPORTS
USA expressed its support for Turkey's waging another operation to Iraq. The U.S. administration declared that the cooperation between Turkey and USA would continue. While Kurdish groups said there were no "civilian casualties", Barzani was the only party that showed reaction.
The operations waged by Turkish Armed Forces on PKK camps located in the north of Iraq on December 16th and 22nd and the logistic support provided by USA for such operations will continue in an intensified way. Officials are expected to decide on continuation of the operations without any interruption at the upcoming National Security Council's (MGK) meeting on December 28th.
THERE IS A PLAN, BUT THERE IS NO ACTION
The government could not keep its promises regarding the last 3 months of the "lost year" 2007. Many of the 73 activities listed in the "3-Month Action Plan" made public by Turkish State Minister Nazim Ekren in October, could not be implemented.
Ekren previously said 9 bills would be enacted, 13 laws would be amended and 4 drafts would be prepared. However, only the bills on nuclear plants and Istanbul's candidacy for European Capital of Culture for 2010 were enacted within this period. On the other hand, the "5-Year Plan" has not been announced either.

PM ERDOGAN: "WE ARE RESOLUTE"
In regard to the cross-border operation (into the north of Iraq), Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "we will maintain our determination in regard to fight against terrorism. It is impossible to make any concession from it. I thank all Turkish security forces." He said Turkey has been using the rights in line with the international laws.

F-16S TARGET 40 LEADING PKK TERRORISTS
The details of the operation conducted by Turkish warplanes on PKK camps the other day, are being revealed. According to sources, the operation was waged on Sidekan and Cemco regions where 40 leading terrorists of PKK nestled. During the operation, Turkish warplanes bombed the determined targets for 35 minutes. The bombed region is described as the most strategic location for PKK after Qandil Mountain.
CALL FOR RETURN TO HOME TO RECEIVE RESPONSE THIS TIME
Former parliament speaker Bulent Arinc, who preferred to be a "modest" MP after the elections, commented on the latest developments such as the cross-border operation in an interview with Zaman daily.
Arinc said the government, which got results from its diplomatic efforts, used the authorization it received from the parliament in an appropriate way and at the right time. The army carried out the operations successfully but all these were not enough to stop terrorism, he said.
He said he supported the "return to home" law which aimed to prevent people from joining the terrorist organization as well as encouraging them to leave PKK. Arinc said he believed such regulation would receive response this time.

PKK'S POISONOUS FLIGHTS TO EUROPE
Drug traffickers of the terrorist organization PKK, who are facing difficulties at customs due to strict x-ray controls, started to land their planes laden with illicit drugs to the small airports of Europe. Meanwhile, at larger airports, the drug packages are thrown from the planes while they are in the air.
National Intelligence Organization (MIT) of Turkey, which determined that drug traffickers used various airline companies for such activities just like the drug trafficking process in Mexico and Colombia, warned the Directorate General for Civilian Aviation on the issue.
CONTINUOUS OPERATION
Turkish F-16 jets bombed yesterday the camps of the terrorist organization PKK and passage ways of terrorists at Qandil Mountain. A spokesman for the peshmerga said no civilians were killed or injured in the operation and nearly 100 terrorists were neutralized.
