ADAPAZARI - Turkey would exert every effort to end economic isolation of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday.
Erdogan told reporters that he met with TRNC Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat in Istanbul and they discussed several issues.
Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan said that he and Talat determined the steps to be taken from now on.
Erdogan stressed that guarantor power Turkey would continue to be sensitive about Cyprus issue and take steps for positive developments in Cyprus.
TRNC wants the international community to end isolation of its people and lift embargoes imposed on its people after majority of Turkish Cypriot people voted ''yes'' to United Nations (UN) Secretary General Kofi Annan's plan for a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem.
The majority of the Greek Cypriot side rejected the plan. Thus, the plan was not put into practice in Cyprus.
