MADRID - Roberto Carlos, Fenerbahce's world renown wing-back said they wrote history by advancing to the next round.
Speaking to the Spanish press on Fenerbahce's pairing off with Spanish team Sevilla, Carlos said, "we have written history, and we believe we will advance further."
"We are in a highly exciting group. We are a powerfully competitive team. It is very hard for them to beat us on the field," said Fenerbahce's Brazilian wing-back.
Carlos who knows La Liga by heart --having played for Real Madrid for eleven years-- said Sevilla was a very good team.
"It's a team I like for they play an offensive game. But I am sure they will leave us the necessary spaces," said Carlos.
On the other hand, the Spanish press welcomed the pairing off with Sevilla saying Sevilla could advance but warned at the same time that Fenerbahce was a tougher match than widely believed. The Spanish press underlined that Fenerbahce was the only team that was able to beat FC Inter(Italy) this season and said its greatest trump was the game at its home.
