MERSIN - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen foresaw Saturday Turkey's foreign trade around 300 billion USD in 2008.
"Turkey's foreign trade volume will be around 300 billion USD in 2008 if (economic) developments continue," he told A.A correspondent in Mediterranean province of Mersin.
On the other hand, Tuzmen qualified 2007 as a successful year for exports and foreign trade.
"Turkish exporters will achieve 107 billion USD of income by the end of this year, and write this record number in Turkey's history," he told.
-IMPACT OF CROSS-BORDER OPERATION ON ECONOMY-
Tuzmen deemed cross-border operations as a right and said Turkey tries to have good relations with all its neighbors.
"However, every one has seen the recent situation," he told.
Tuzmen said Turkey's economy is on the right track and such operations will continue. "Turkey will continue its rightful fight in every platform."
State Minister Tuzmen said all its neighbors are Turkey's friends. "But there is need for fight in another platform against those who are involved in terrorism and who back terrorist acts."
Tuzmen said, "we are doing what we have to do and such things will not affect our economy. There will be no deviation from our targets."
