ANTALYA - Deniz Baykal, the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), said Friday those backing and trying to legalize terrorism harm democracy and law as much as those who get armed and stage terrorist acts.
"The entire world has seen that terrorist attacks against Turkey are staged from a neighboring country and this is unacceptable," Baykal told reporters at the CHP office in Mediterranean city of Antalya.
Baykal said he hopes terrorist organization PKK cannot and will not stage attacks against Turkey from north of Iraq in coming days.
"I hope the Iraqi administration will understand that presence of the terrorist organization PKK in its territories harm its own stability, welfare, development and peace, and will have a sincere cooperation with Turkey," Baykal told.
Baykal said he is pleased with the U.S. stance on Turkey's fight against terrorism.
"None of our allies or neighbors should expect outcome from terrorist acts that makes Turkey uneasy," he told.
