Cooperation Among Radio And Broadcast Regulatory Authorities Of Blacksea Region Underway

ANKARA - Blacksea countries will enhance cooperation in broadcasting as well as economy.
With the initiative of Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council, a platform for the broadcast regulatory authorities of member countries will be formed under the Blacksea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
RTUK had proposed the formation of a network/forum/platform between the broadcast regulatory authorities of the 12 BSEC members to BSEC secretariat.
RTUK's proposal was later accepted at the meeting of BSEC's Information and Communication technologies working group in Ukrainian capital of Kiev.
In this perspective, RTUK together with the countries that approve the project will determine the procedures and arrangements under which the said platform will operate in 2008.
As well as Turkey, Albania, Azarbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Montenegro, Ukraine and Greece are members to BSEC which was founded with the iniative of Turkey in 1992.
BSEC operates as a regional cooperation organisation in areas of transportation, energy, communications, science and technology.
On the other hand, RTUK will host the meeting of Mediterranean Regulatory Authorities in 2010. Also RTUK will hold the Vice-Presidency of the organisation in 2009 and the following year will take over the presidency.
