AN EARTHQUAKE OF 5.7 ML SHAKES ANKARA
Ankara welcomed the first day of Eid-al-Adha religious holiday with fear of earthquake. Five earthquakes of minor magnitudes took place in quick succession starting at 09:36 a.m. in the Bala district of Ankara. The following earthquake that took place at 11:48 a.m. of 5.7 Richter-magnitude caused panic. There were no casualties. Cracks occurred on the walls of some buildings in Bala and the rest of Ankara. In the Sarapynar village 15 houses were partly damaged. The earthquake was felt in surrounding eight provinces.
ULKER BUYS WORLD GIANT
Turkey's giant company Ulker with an estimated value of 7 billion USD, purchased the 80-year-old chocolate icon Godiva of Belgium from its American owner Campell Soup for 850mn USD. Godiva with an annual earning of 500mn USD owns 450 boutiques in 80 different countries.

EARTHQUAKE SHAKES CAPITAL
Ankara and its surrounding woke up with consecutive earthquakes on the morning of the religious holiday. The one with the biggest magnitude (5.7 richter magnitudes) occurred at 11:48 a.m. in the Bala district of Ankara. There were no casualties. 15 empty houses in the Saripinar village collapsed. Experts said they did not expect anymore earthquakes of big magnitudes.
ULKER PURCHASES WORLD GIANT GODIVA
Luxury chocolate brand with 9300 sales points in 80 countries belongs to a Turkish company now. Godiva -- one of the most renown chocolate brands of the world which was founded in Belgium in 1926 -- was owned by American company Campell Soup. Godiva offers a wide variety of products ranging from premium chocolate, to biscuits, from cacao to coffee. With the agreement that was signed yesterday, Godiva now belongs to Ulker with all its subsidiaries, patents, commercial secrets, brands and facilities. Ulker will open Godiva boutiques in Turkey as well.

QUAKE 5.7, FEAR 9 MAGNITUDE
An earthquake shook Ankara on the first day of the Eid-al-Adha. A tremor measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted the capital at 11:28 a.m. The epicenter of the quake was Bala town. No one died or wounded in the quake that lasted only 15 seconds, but 15 unused houses demolished. Citizens panicked due to the quake. Professor Eyidogan said there is not any bigger risk while Professor Pampal said, "this quake is local, the real threat is the fault lines in the vicinity. Ankara is also under quake risk."
ULKER BUYS GIANT CHOCOLATE BRAND GODIVA
Turkey's giant company Ulker purchased luxurious chocolate company "Godiva" in return for 850 million USD. Ulker left behind world giant companies like Nestle, Mars and Starbucks in the race and bought Godiva. Godiva is a leader in its category with an annual turnover of 500 million USD. Established by a Belgian family, Godiva was named after a legendary British lady.

People living in the capital and six surrounding provinces panicked due to an earthquake on the first day of the Eid-al-Adha. Many houses were damaged in Ankara's Bala town, and 100 bovine animals were perished.
ANOTHER TURKISH TEENAGER SLAIN IN LONDON
Youngsters' gangs killed another person in Stoke Newington, which is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in London. 16-year-old David Novak was stabbed to death in the neighborhood. His father was a Turkish Cypriot and mother a German. In the same neighborhood last month, a 17-year-old Turkish guy Etem Celebi was shot to death in front of his house.

RETURN HOME PROJECT: FIRST FAMILIES WILL BE CONVINCED
The government plans to implement a new project to enable PKK terrorists to get down from the mountains. Justice & Development (AK) Party MPs will first meet families of the members of the terrorist organization PKK. They will inform the families about the article 221 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCY) and ask the families to convince their children to return home. Job opportunities will be provided for those who benefit from article 221.

After six minor tremors that jolted Ankara's Bala town on Thursday morning, another earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was recorded at 11:48 a.m. Ankara and surrounding provinces felt the earthquake which was followed by aftershocks. Citizens rushed to streets after the quake. Houses were damaged in some villages of Bala.

MEP OF FRANCE: WE ARE ALL FEARFUL ABOUT TURKEY
Ari Vatanen, a former world rally champion of Finland and one of the most colorful personalities of the European Parliament (EP), was elected an MEP from the Christian Democrats list in France in 2004. Vatanen is among the MEPs who support Turkey the most in the EP. "Kimse Yok mu" (Is there no one) Association is pioneering a brotherhood initiative and it has great reflections in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. The association distributed 60,000 sacrificial animals in the region for the Eid-al-Adha.
