ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will go to Egypt on June 6.
Gul will hold meetings in Cairo prior to the 31st Meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Foreign Ministers which will be held in Istanbul between June 14-16.
Gul will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher. Gul will convey the written message of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer to Mubarak.
Lifting the isolation over Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and increasing the status of TRNC in OIC will mainly be discussed during the visit of Gul. Gul, who will ask support for Turkey's candidate for OIC Secretary General office, will hold meetings on bilateral relations, OIC Foreign Ministers meeting, Middle East and Iraq issues.
Gul is expected to return to Turkey on Monday.
