TRT To Start Broadcasting In Different Languages And Dialects

ISTANBUL - Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) Director General Senol Demiroz said on Friday that broadcast in different languages and dialects that Turkish citizens traditionally speak in daily life would start on June 7.
Demiroz said that under ``Regulations on Radio and Television Broadcast in Different Languages and Dialects that Turkish Citizens Speak in Daily Life`` which took effect on January 25, 2004, the TRT would start broadcasting such programmes as of June 7, 2004.
Noting that TRT`s infrastructural studies had been completed, Demiroz said, ``it has been decided to make first broadcast on June 7, 2004. The name of these programmes is `Our Cultural Riches` and they will be broadcast in different languages and dialects.``
Demiroz said those programmes would include news from Turkey and world and about sports events in Turkey and the world.
Demiroz said those programmes would also include various documentaries on traditions and customs, magazine shows reflecting Turkey`s natural beauties and historical places and music shows.
He added that those programmes would be broadcast on TRT-3 channel and TRT Radio-1.
