NEW YORK - Turkish diplomatic sources in New York said on Thursday that Cyprus Report, which was issued officially today by the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, responded Turkey's expectations.
Sources added that they did not expect a Council decision from the U.N. Security Council which would discuss the report on June 8.
Noting that they welcomed the content of report, sources said that it was a very analytical report which showed the realities as they were. They added that the report registered Turkey's Cyprus policy and the rightfulness of political will.
Stressing that the attitude of U.N. Security Council completely related with the attitude of Russia, sources said that it was difficult to predict whether the Council would try to take a decision in spite of the risk of Russia's veto.
