Turkey - India Joint Study Group For Fight Against Terrorism Holds Its First Meeting

ANKARA - Turkey-India Joint Study Group for Fight Against Terrorism held its first meeting in Ankara between June 1 and 3.
The group was formed under the protocol which was signed between Turkey and India during Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's visit to Turkey between September 16 and 19, 2003.
Turkish Foreign Ministry stated on Thursday that during the meetings, delegations took up measures which would be taken in fight against terrorism, problems which stemmed from international terrorism, connections of illicit drug trafficking with international terrorism and organized crimes, recent developments in fight against terrorism in international forums and the opportunities of joint cooperation on bilateral and international platforms and especially under the United Nations.
Sides repeated their common belief in cooperation in fight against terrorism and agreed on continuation of the meetings of the Joint Study Group to further develop this fight.
