Sahin Says Turkey Needs More Promotion During A Ceremony In Antalya

ANTALYA - Turkey needs more promotion, Turkish Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said on Saturday.
Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) organized "Traditional Tax Awards" for 2007 in southern province of Antalya.
Taking the floor in the ceremony, Sahin said, "the government believed that Turkey will be developed further under the leadership of the private sector."
A promotional film about Turkey would be displayed on international TV channels soon, he stated.
On the other hand, Rifat Hisacikloglu, chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), said, "Turkey attained a remarkable growth with 49 percent during the past six years. We are pleased with this figure. Turkish private sector also made a great contribution to the growth. We are also happy that Turkey has become the 17th largest economy of the world. Turkey`s exports have amounted to 105 billion U.S. dollars recently," he stated.
Hisarciklioglu also said a growth rate below 7.5 percent would be a failure in economy. "Turkey should grow by 7.5 percent a year. If we want to become the 10th largest economy in the world, we should exert efforts to reach 7.5 percent growth a year," he said.
