ANKARA - Turkish General Staff said on Sunday Turkish Air Forces` planes hit targets of terrorist organization PKK/KONGRA-GEL in Avashin and Hakurk regions and Mount Kandil in the north of Iraq as of 1 a.m. on December 16th, 2007.
A statement on web site of General Staff said the Turkish planes hit targets in the mentioned regions in the north of Iraq and returned back their bases at 4:15 a.m. and stated that the operation was also backed by Turkish Land Forces` long-range weapons.
"The operations will continue in line with the necessities of the military within the scope of the authorization given to the Turkish Armed Forces. These operations were against terrorist organization PKK/KONGRA-GEL," the statement added.
