ANKARA - Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) representative Barham Saleh said on Tuesday that they were loyal to their commitment on not permitting the usage of Iraqi lands for any attack against neighboring countries.
Saleh replied questions of reporters after his meeting with Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal.
Upon a question, Saleh said that they have taken up security condition in Iraq during the meeting and added that they were loyal to their commitment on not permitting the usage of both Iraqi lands and Iraqi Kurdistan lands as bases in case of any attack against neighboring countries.
Stressing that the security of Iraq and its neighbors were important for them, Saleh said that they would continue cooperation with neighbor countries against threats.
Diplomatic sources said that Ziyal and Saleh stressed one more time the existing consensus on elimination of PKK/KADEK terrorist organization.
Saleh said that they were expecting civil contribution from Turkey and he wanted to start flights from the airport, which is under construction by Turkish firms in Suleymaniyah, to Turkey. However, Turkish side considers that it was early to start flights.
