ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan hosted a dinner in honor of Albanian Parliament Speaker Josefina Topalli Coba in Ankara on Wednesday.
Delivering a speech during the dinner, Toptan said there were strong historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Albania.
"We can see traces of these ties in our languages, historical and cultural works, cuisines, literature and music," Toptan said.
He said that relations between the two countries improved in all areas.
"Albania is a country which has a strategical importance in its region and which contributes to stability," Toptan said.
He also said that Turkey desired to continue to cooperate with Albania during the country's integration process with European-Atlantic institutions as well.
