ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul left Turkey on Wednesday for a visit to Turkmenistan as the official guest of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Industry and Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan, Energy Minister Hilmi Guler and a group of businessmen and media members are accompanying Gul on his visit.
Holding a press conference before his departure, Gul said his visit would provide an opportunity to review a common vision for the future with Turkmenistan.
"We will address bilateral relations and cooperation with Turkmenistan, and exchange views on regional and international developments," Gul told reporters.
Gul said commercial and economic issues would also be discussed during his meetings in Turkmenistan.
President Gul is expected to return to Turkey on Friday.
