Turkey's Membership Will Be In Best Interest Of E.U. And World, Turkish M.P.

BERLIN - Cuneyt Yuksel, an MP from the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party, said Wednesday Turkey's EU membership will be in the best interests of itself, the Union and the world.
"The EU is the project of the 21st century and therefore Turkey wants to be included in it," Yuksel told a panel discussion on developments in the Middle East.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, having close ties with the German Christian Democrat Union, is hosting the panel discussion in German capital of Berlin.
Yuksel said Turkey's EU membership is also important for developments in the Mideast.
"Turkey can fulfil all criteria required for full membership, and wants to become an EU member since it occupies an important location in the globalizing world," he also said.
