Akdas Of Turkey Elected As Vice President Of European Quality Organization

ANKARA - The European Organization for Quality (EOQ) has elected Niyazi Akdas, a member of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) assembly, as its first vice president.
The organization appointed Akdas -- a former deputy chairman of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) -- to this position in its congress in Portuguese capital of Lisbon on Tuesday.
Akdas will be in this office for three years, as of June 2008. This election has also offered the occasion to Niyazi Akdas to become president of the EOQ for three years --as of May 2011.
EOQ is an autonomous, non-profit association under Belgian law. Founded in 1956, it has 34 members. The organization is based in Belgium.
TSE became a member of EOQ in 1976.
