ISTANBUL - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said Wednesday that "the idea to make Istanbul a financial center is not merely a dream but a realizable project."
Speaking at the Fifth International Finance Summit in Istanbul, Simsek remarked that "only a few years ago, Turkey was at the edge of the abyss. Currently, Turkey has reached both political and economic stability."
"In order to make Istanbul a regional financial hub, we need better trained workforce and effective legislation. Furthermore, the general infrastructure, IT technology and telecommunication infrastructure in Istanbul must be improved," Simsek noted.
