Yok Chairman Prof. Tezic's Term In Office To End On Dec. 8th

ANKARA - Higher Board of Education (YOK) Chairman Prof. Erdogan Tezic's term in office will end on December 8th.
The new chairperson will be appointed by President Abdullah Gul.
Prof. Tezic --who was the rector of Galatasaray University-- was appointed as YOK Chairman in 2003.
According to Higher Education Law; President, Council of Ministers and Interuniversity Board each nominate seven members for YOK General Assembly. Thus, the assembly comprises a total of 21 members.
Then, the President nominates one of these assembly members as YOK chairperson for 4 years.
