ATHENS - Turkish FM Ali Babacan said on Wednesday, "we have not received any satisfactory response from Kurdish administration in the north of Iraq regarding our fight against PKK terrorist organization."
Babacan, who is currently in Athens, spoke to Turkish journalists, and said that Turkey successfully managed to isolate terrorist organization, adding that Iraqi central government also made clear its position about this issue.
"However, we have not received any satisfactory response from Kurdish administration. We have not seen concrete steps (by Kurdish administration) which will increase our trust in fight against terrorist organization," he added.
Babacan said that Turkey is in strict collaboration with the United States regarding fight against PKK, adding that a new process started after the (Bush-Erdogan) meeting on November 5th.
He noted that Turkish government supports other countries in their fight against terrorism, adding that Turkey expects a similar approach from them.
Noting that the operations on PKK are defined as limited operations, Babacan said: "The target is just terrorist organization, not Iraq, Iraqi people, Iraqi lands or natural resources of that country" .
Regarding his meetings with Greek FM Theodora Bakoyianni, Babacan said that they are determined to display a clear will to solve problems (between the two countries) and to start a new cooperation process between Turkey and Greece.
Babacan also said that Ankara government values the support offered by Greece in (Turkey's) EU process.
Stressing the importance of upcoming visit of Greek PM Costas Karamanlis to Ankara (most probably at the beginning of 2008), Babacan said that Karamanlis will be the first Greek premier who will arrive in Turkey after 49 years of interval.
