Babacan In Athens

ATHENS - Turkish FM Ali Babacan said on Wednesday that he and his Greek counterpart Theodora Bakoyianni agreed to display a strong political will to settle problems between the two countries.
Within the scope of Babacan's visit to Athens, Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Greek Industrialists Federation signed an agreement to set up a Turkey-Greece Business Council.
Babacan said that upcoming visit of Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis to Ankara is very important, adding that Turkey and Greece are on a dialogue and cooperation process.
Babacan noted that aim of Turkish-Greek economic relations is to set up a single economic zone, stating that both countries have important roles as far as security and stability in the region are concerned.
On the other hand, Bakoyianni said that Greece supports Turkey's EU membership, expressing her belief that a Turkey --which adopts EU acquis-- will ultimately join the EU.
Noting that Greek companies are investing in Turkey but there is an imbalance, Bakoyianni called on Turkish businessmen to invest in Greece.
