MILITARY COOPERATION WITH THE NEIGHBOR
Turkey and Greece agreed on five new confidence building measures during Turkish FM Ali Babacan's first visit to Greece after being appointed as the Foreign Minister.
The most important of all these measures was the establishment of two different joint military units by the two countries within NATO.

"WE FELT HAPPY WHEN WE DREW WITH TURKEY"
Armenian Football Federation Chairman Ruben Hayrapetian said that they felt very happy, as the whole nation, when Armenia drew with Turkey in World Cup qualifiers.
"These matches are great opportunities as steps to be taken to ensure friendship and peace between the two countries," he said.

HISTORICAL DECISION
In Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan's visit to Athens, a decision was taken to establish a joint military unit within the framework of NATO. Thus, a new term began in Turkish-Greek relations.

GEN. BUYUKANIT: WE WILL DO WHAT WE ARE AUTHORIZED TO DO
Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit said that Turkish Armed Forces has received authorization from the government in the fight against terrorism. "We will do what we are authorized to do," said Gen. Buyukanit. "As long as we have pain in our hearts, our struggle will only escalate," told Gen. Buyukanit.

NO ALCOHOL IN PILOTS
Alcohol test of Forensic Medicine was completed. There are no traces of alcohol or drugs in blood tests of pilot Serhat Ozdemir and co-pilot Tahir Aksoy of the plane which crashed in Mediterranean province of Isparta.

REQUIRED THING WILL BE DONE
Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit said, "Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) was authorized to fight against terrorism. TSK will do the required thing."

TSK TO PURCHASE "FLYING CASTLE"
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is planning to buy Chinook (CH-47) type huge transportation helicopters to enforce military operations. The helicopters --also called as "flying castle"-- have a maximum speed of 315 km/hour; and can carry 60 soldiers and even F-16 warplanes.

ARROGANT MAP ON PATROL VEHICLE
All patrol vehicles used by the Pashmargas in north of Iraq have map stickers showing so-called Kurdistan. The map shows various Turkish cities as part of "Kurdistan".

TURKEY NEEDS 7 MILLION RESIDENCES BY 2015
Shahbaz Mavaddat, a high level representative of the International Finance Corporation, said that the mortgage sector in Turkey promises a great potential. "Turkey needs seven million new residences by 2015," Mavaddat noted.

GREECE SHOCKS AGAIN
While Turkish FM Ali Bacaban was in Athens, Greece and Egypt agreed on continental shelf, first step of Exclusive Economic Zone. The agreement includes Greece's Megisti, an island which is very close to Turkey's Kas town of southern province of Antalya. The two country rejected Turkey that wanted to participate in the meeting and Turkish officials' demands to exclude Megisti out of the agreement.

1 OFFICER KILLED IN SIRNAK
A clash erupted between Turkish security forces and PKK terrorists at Mount Kupeli in southeastern province of Sirnak. One officer was martyred and 6 PKK terrorists, 4 of whom were women, were killed in the clash.

ONE OFFICER MARTYRED AT GABAR MOUNTAIN
Six PKK terrorists were killed while one officer was martyred at Gabar Mountain in southeastern province of Sirnak. General Staff stated, "the six terrorists were responsible for the killing of one non-commissioned officer and 12 privates in Sirnak on October 7th."

UNAKITAN: INTEREST RATE TO DROP TO SINGLE DIGIT
Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan listed the promises regarding 2008 budget as, "prosperity of people will increase; struggle will continue against inflation rate; there is no problem in current account deficit but measures will be taken anyway; we will drop interest rates to single digit."

ERDOGAN: NO MORE CRISISES
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey will grow stronger with 2008 budget.
"Turkish people look ahead more confident. The world is mentioning our social policies and growing opportunities in Turkey while talking about our country," he said.

FLYING FORTRESS FOR TURKISH ARMY
Turkish Army will become stronger after the procurement of "Chinooks", giant cargo helicopters. The "flying fortress" can fly night and day in every weather condition and can also reach a speed of 315 kilometers per hour.

GUL REMINDS PAKISTANI LEADERS ABOUT ERDOGAN AND DEMIREL
Turkish President Abdullah Gul reminded Pakistani leaders about political life of former President Suleyman Demirel and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Gul advised Pakistani leaders to struggle in politics. Evaluating his recent trip to Pakistan, Gul said that he went to Pakistan "to encourage democratic process and give morale to the people of Pakistan."

ATV-SABAH TENDER
The Calik Group is the sole company that has submitted an offer in the ATV (television)-Sabah (newspaper) tender. The TV and newspaper were put on tender by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) which took the control of the group a while ago. The tender will take place on Wednesday, December 5th and the ensuing bargaining will take place on December 7th.

The Calik Group is the sole company that has submitted an offer in the ATV (television)-Sabah (newspaper) tender. The tender will be held at 11:00 a.m. today.

General Staff will buy huge transportation helicopters to carry crowded military units and heavy arms. Initiatives have started for tender, while it was claimed that the strongest candidate is Boeing's Chinook which has a maximum speed of 315 km/hour.
