Two NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan

KABUL - Two NATO soldiers were killed and three wounded when a convoy hit an explosive in eastern Afghanistan Wednesday, the alliance's International Security Assistance Force said.
ISAF did not release the nationalities of the casualties from the blast caused by an improvised explosive device, which are among the main threats to the 60,000 international soldiers helping the Afghan government deal with an insurgency.
Most of the soldiers in eastern Afghanistan are from the United States, which has the most soldiers in the country and led the invasion that drove the Taliban from government in late 2001 for harbouring Al-Qaeda.
Around 218 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year, which has been the bloodiest of the Taliban-led insurgency. Most of them were killed in combat.
