Turkey Raises $706.3 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey has exported 186 thousand 402 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 706 million 327 thousand 763 U.S. dollars in the 39th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 146 thousand 849 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 22 thousand 257 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 10 thousand 694 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 6 thousand 622 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 228 thousand 311 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 521 million 45 thousand 269 U.S. dollars.
