Bosnia - Herzegovina's Presidential Council Chairman Tihic In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Sulejman Tihic, the chairman of the Presidential Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina, arrived in Istanbul late on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Tihic said that he would attend the opening of exhibition on restoration of Mostar Bridge organized by Bosnia-Herzegovina's Consulate General in Istanbul in Hagia Sophia Museum on Monday.
Tihic said that Mostar Bridge which was constructed in the middle of 16th century by Master Architect Sinan's student Hayreddin reflected Turkish, Islam and Ottoman architecture and stated that Mostar Bridge would be opened with a ceremony with participation of U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan on July 23, 2004.
Mostar Bridge has been the symbol of the City of Mostar. With a span of 28.6 meters, the arch of the Mostar Bridge was Europe's longest stone arch for centuries.
