TEHRAN - Turkey's Ambassador in Tehran Halit Bozkurt Aran delivered his diplomatic credentials to Iranian President Mohammed Khatami on Saturday.
Aran, who was received by Khatami, expressed Turkey's sorrow for the quake which occurred in Iran on Friday.
Aran said he was the 63rd ambassador of Turkey assigned in Tehran.
Stating that they were intended to improve relations between Turkey and Iran, Aran said Turkey was aware of Khatami's determination to improve bilateral relations.
Aran said, ''we are planning to improve relations within the framework of mutual respect, good will and cooperation.''
Aran said important developments were recorded between Turkey and Iran in economy, stating that Turkey was the fifth biggest investor country in Iran. He said several problems were overcome within improving economic relations.
Aran said they planned to arrange various cultural activities between the two countries.
Khatami said they were determined to improve relations between the two countries.
