Fazil Say Becomes EU's Culture Ambassador

BRUSSELS - Composer and pianist Fazil Say has become "European Culture Ambassador" as part of the "EU 2008 Intercultural Dialogue Year", it was reported.
On the first day of the beginning of the EU 2008 Intercultural Dialogue Year activities, Say and other seven famous names received high attention by the EU media.
Jan Figel, a Member of the European Commission responsible for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, told that names such as Fazil Say who have left a mark on European art and culture will contribute to the EU project.
Touching on the richness brought by cultural differences in the EU, Say indicated that "we will work to promote healthier atmospheres in which all get to know each other."
Say will attend various activities of the EU in 2008 and contribute to the success of these activities.
