Babacan Congratulates German President Koehler By Phone

ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan called Horst Koehler, the new German President on Friday to congratulate him for his new post.
Babacan expressed belief that support of Germany to Turkey's European Union (EU) full membership would continue increasingly.
Koehler who earlier acted as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director had appreciated Turkey's economy program.
German President Johannes Rau will hand over the presidency to Koehler on July 1. Koehler will be the 9th President of Germany.
