ATHENS - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said, "Turkey`s vision regarding Turkish-Greek relations is very clear."
Speaking to Greek state television NET, Babacan said that Turkey`s future vision is support between Turkey and Greece as well as being the two EU member neighbors.
Defining the visit of Costas Karamanlis to Ankara as a "turning point", Babacan said that the two countries will be closer to each other.
Regarding Western Thrace issue, Babacan said, "people who are living in that region have rights and responsibilities as Greek citizens. We believe that all Greek citizens have the same rights and responsibilities with all Europeans."
"Turkey`s efforts regarding protection of human rights and religious freedoms are continuing," said Babacan regarding Istanbul Fener Greek Patriarchate issue.
Noting that Turkey will make progress about rights and freedoms, Babacan said, "within that scope, as we record progress in these areas, all Turkish citizens will benefit from them."
