ANKARA - Turkish Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said Monday Turkey expects and wishes foreign countries to extradite top members of the terrorist organization.
"We expect them to behave sensitive about extradition of top members, we have every type of punishment execution facilities in which we can shelter terror criminals," he told A.A correspondent.
Sahin said his ministry is working for extradition of about 50 terrorists, and has demanded Iraq to extradite terror criminals.
"However, we have not yet received any response from Iraq," he said.
On amnesty, Sahin said he will not bring up issuing amnesty as long as he stays in this position.
"Turkey and the parliament should exclude amnesty regarding prison out of its agenda for an indefinite period of time," he said.
Sahin said Turkey does not either think of broadening "efficient repentance" provision in the Turkish Penal Code.
-DRAFT CONSTITUTION-
On the other hand, Sahin said the government may make public a draft constitutional amendment mid-December.
"We expect citizens, NGOs and everybody to contribute to this draft. It will be more appropriate if constitutions are prepared and legalized with a wide compromise, " he also said.
On Article 301 of Turkish Penal Code, Sahin said he laid down six different proposals to amend the article in the last cabinet meeting.
"We can bring it up to the cabinet meeting as soon as possible, and I think we can then submit it to the parliament," he told.
Meanwhile, Sahin said Turkey continues making legal reforms on the road to EU membership. "I do not agree with claims that negotiation process has slowed down," he also said.
