Airbase Request Of U.S. - Demands Outside Deca Are Not Met Positively By Turkey: Gul

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul has said that demands outside the framework of the U.S. Defense and Economic Cooperation Agreement (DECA) were not met positively by Turkey.
Speaking on the NTV television channel on Thursday, Gul denied the news which reported that the United States had further requests for use of Turkish base and air and sea ports.
''Everything goes on in parallel to the Defense Agreement since 1980. They have several proposals. If these proposals are within framework of the agreement, they are accepted,'' he said.
Noting that the United States had made several requests about the issue of military training, Gul added that they did not welcome demands outside the framework of the DECA.
