ISTANBUL - Association of Young Turkish Cypriot Businessmen (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus-TRNC GIAD) representative attended for the first time a meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (YES for Europe) which is the only accredited organ that presents European young entrepreneurs' opinions and proposals to the Council of Europe.
Association of Turkish Young Businessmen (TUGIAD) Executive Board Chairman Murat Sarayli issued a statement on Thursday on the YES for Europe meeting that took place in Italy's Florence city between May 21-22.
Sarayli stressed that formal invitation of the TRNC GIAD to a YES for Europe meeting for the first time following the twin referenda in Cyprus was important in terms of recognition of the TRNC in international platforms and being the initiator of new formations.
Sarayli added that YES for Europe had expressed clear opinion that restrictions and obstacles in front of Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs should be lifted.
YES for Europe which is the main association of young entrepreneurs through Europe representing 35,000 members is the largest dynamic network of entrepreneurs in Europe that aims at improving the economic and social performance of European entrepreneurship.
Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Holland, Turkey, Portugal, Greece and Greek Cypriot side are the members of the confederation that was launched in 1988.
TUGIAD has been the member of YES for Europe since February 3, 1994 and serving as the Deputy President since 2002.
