DIYARBAKIR - German Ambassador to Turkey Eckart Cuntz said Friday Turkish and German institutions will continue their cooperation against terrorism.
"There is a cooperation based on mutual confidence among our institutions," Cuntz told reporters after meeting Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu of southeastern province of Diyarbakir.
Germany caught and extradited Mehmet Iltas and Mehmet Esref Kizilay, members of the terrorist organization PKK, to Turkey.
"I do not want to comment on this matter," the German ambassador said when recalled Turkey expects extradition of 43 more terrorists.
On the other hand, Turkish security forces arrested a German citizen named Atilla S. in an operation in central province of Konya on November 7th. This person was wanted by the Interpol on charges of being a member of the terrorist organization al-Qaida and getting prepared for bomb attacks.
Cuntz said there is no link between extradition of members of the terrorist organization PKK and this al-Qaida member, when asked if Germany requested Turkey to extradite Atilla S.
