Supreme Military Board Convenes

ANKARA - The Supreme Military Board (YAS) has convened Friday at the General Staff headquarters under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the second day of its regular meeting.
The meeting is being attended by PM Erdogan, Chief of General Staff Gen.Yasar Buyukanit, Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gonul, Land Forces Commander Gen.Ilker Basbug, Naval Forces Commander Vice Admiral Muzaffer Metin Atac, Air Forces Commander Gen. Aydogan Babaoglu, Gendarmerie Commander Gen. Isik Kosaner and other military personnel.
The two-day YAS meeting is expected to focus on planned activities of the Turkish Armed Forces, including topics such as personnel, training and discipline.
The decisions of YAS will be submitted to President Gul for approval and then be published by the General Secretariat of the Turkish General Staff.
