ANKARA - Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said according to initial investigations, there were no survivors from a plane which crashed early Friday.
"Search and rescue teams are still on crash site and a team from the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority is on the way to the area," Yildirim told reporters in capital Ankara.
An Atlasjet MD-83 jetliner crashed near Turbetepe region in Keciborlu town of Mediterranean province of Isparta early on Friday.
The plane was en route from Istanbul to Isparta and there were 49 passengers and seven crew members on board.
The wreckage of the plane was dispersed over a wide area with at least a 150-meter distance between the wings and the main body of the plane.
