ANKARA - Kathryn Schalow, the spokesperson of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, said the meeting with certain Turkish parliamentarians scheduled to take place on Thursday was postponed due to speculations.
Schalow told A.A that they decided to postpone the meeting in order not to put their guests in an uncomfortable situation because of the speculations appearing in the media.
Schalow said they were frustrated because a meeting that should be perceived in the regular context was politicized.
Spokesperson Schalow underlined that the U.S. Embassy sometimes held meetings with a wide variety of people from Turkey and sometimes hosted dinners in order to learn the views of those people on contemporary issues in Turkey.
Schalow said the meeting could be re-scheduled but a certain date was not set yet.
