CAIRO - Assem Ragab Chairman of Egypt`s General Authority For Investment & Free Zones (GAFI) said on Thursday they aimed at attracting investors from Turkey.
Ragab, breifed Turkish reporters on the investment opportunities in his country and said Turkish companies mostly invested in textile sector and automotive parts sector in Egypt.
Assem Ragab, said they wanted to attract Turkish investments to petro-chemistry sector, light industry, automotive supply industry, and agricultural industry.
According to a report published by the Turkish-Egyptian Businessman association, the volume of trade between Turkey and Egypt had a rising trend since 2002 and reached 1.1 bn USD in 2006.
Turkey is listed 12th in the list of major foreign investors in Egypt and according to GAFI data the recorded Turkish investments in Egypt amounts to 130m USD.
