Black Sea Town Presents A Cane Peculiar To Itself As A Gift To Prince Charles

DEVREK - Devrek town of Black Sea city of Zonguldak has presented a cane --peculiar to itself-- as a gift to Prince of Wales Charles.
"We presented Prince Charles a cane with a silver handle which was made of cornelian cherry wood," Rustu Celebi, who is an expert in cane production in Devrek town, told A.A correspondent on Thursday.
Celebi said the cane carries regional features and was prepared in 45 days.
"Izmir Economy University executives wanted us to prepare a cane and a verge for Prince Charles. The executives were planning to present them as a gift to the prince during his visit to Turkey," he also said.
Celebi said the verge also had a silver handle and was created in 10-15 days.
"We presented our canes as a gift to former U.S. president Ronald Reagan, ex-president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev, and British Queen Elizabeth II," he also said.
