ANKARA - Turkish Justice Ministry said on Thursday that Mehmet Iltas and Mehmet Esref Kizilay, the members of the terrorist PKK organization, were extradited to Turkey and jailed.
Justice Ministry statement said Iltas and Kizilay, who were wanted with red-notice, were captured in Germany.
The statement said Iltas and Kyzylay, who fled abroad after committing acts of terrorism in Turkey, were extradited to Turkey as a result of intensive efforts and diplomatic initiatives of the Justice Ministry.
Iltas, a member of the terrorist organization, was responsible for joining terrorist activities like raid on a gendarmerie unit in Genc town of southeastern province of Bingol in 1991, attack on a minibus killing 8 people, and wounding 4 people. Iltas was captured in Germany on September 19th, 2007 and brought to Turkey.
The statement said Kizilay, another member of the terrorist organization, was wanted international red-notice on charges of killing a policemen in 1991. Kizilay was captured in Siengen on March 13th, 2007 and extradited to Turkey on November 23rd, 2007.
