Trade volume between Spain and Turkey reached nearly 6.5 billion euros, Cierva stated.
"We expect that Turkish businessmen will invest in the areas such as entertainment, tourism, finance and rehabilitation centers for elders," Cierva said.
He said Spanish companies could join especially communication, infrastructure and privatization projects in Turkey.
"Spanish tourism sector has discovered Turkey. Spanish companies bought three or four hotels in Istanbul. They are also eager to buy five-star hotels in Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara," Turkish Ambassador to Spain Ender Arat said.
The number of Spanish tourists visiting Turkey became 236,000 in a year and this figure would increase in the coming years, Arat stated.
"Turkey has a great potential. Synergy between Turkish and Spanish governments will also benefit the business world," Arat said.
He stated Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would pay a visit to Spain with a delegation comprised of over 100 businessmen and this visit would be an important one ahead of Alliance of Civilizations Forum.
Meanwhile, 22 Spanish companies will attend a meeting to be organized by Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) in Turkey on December 12th and 13th.
