LEFKOSA - Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ferdi Sabit Soyer received the DG of Press & Information Salih Melek, Anadolu Agency`s Executive Board President and Director General Hilmi Bengi and other Turkish media representatives in Lefkosa on Wednesday.
Melek, Bengi and other media representatives are in the TRNC to attend a conference on "Media Strategies in the 21st Century: Expectations, Problems."
Soyer indicated that he is pleased to see Turkish media representatives in the TRNC. "The century we live in is a century of information. The Lefkosa conference is important and will lead to positive results in all relevant areas," Soyer noted.
"There is freedom of press in the TRNC. What will crown freedom of press are ethical values. Not complying with ethical values will hurt freedom of the press," Soyer indicated.

"We will discuss ways and means to promote the TRNC in foreign media," Melek noted.
