Spain Awards Zorlu And Alaton With Medal Of Merit

ISTANBUL - Spanish Ambassador in Ankara Luis Felipe Fernandez de la Pena on Tuesday awarded Alarko Holding Executive Board President Isak Alaton and Zorlu Holding Executive Board President Ahmet Nazif Zorlu with medal of merit of Spain for their contributions to strengthen relations between Turkey and Spain.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alaton said Spain's rapid advance in technology over the past 30 years was an example to Turkey, and noted that half of the shares of energy company Alarko Altek belonged to Spanish Endesa Group.
On the other hand, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu said political, social and economic cooperation between Turkey and Spain was very important, indicating that Spain was one of the leading commercial partners of Turkey.
Spanish Ambassador De la Pena said strong bilateral economic relations, Alliance of Civilizations Project, and fight against terrorism were among the important elements uniting Turkey and Spain.
