ANKARA - Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Deniz Baykal said Tuesday that terrorist organization PKK is trying to harm Turkey's unity but it won't be successful.
"Nobody should walk into the trap set (by the terrorist organization) and ostracize innocent people," Baykal told his party group at the parliament, noting that there has never been, and will never be a conflict between Turkish and Kurdish citizens of Turkey.
Criticizing negative aspects of government's policies regarding fight against terrorism, Baykal pointed out recent talks between Turkey and the United States.
"They said the intelligence sharing has launched. What tangible outcomes it has produced so far? What steps have been taken to crack down on PKK?" Baykal asked.
He also claimed that the government conceals an agreement regarding fight against terrorism.
"Last week Mr. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, 'confidential agreements can not be made public'. This is very important. This means there is an agreement and its is secret... With whom did you sign this deal? What kind of matters does this agreement cover and what advantages did Turkey get with it?" Baykal remarked.
"Every Turkish citizen has the right to be informed about any deal regarding the future of Turkey," he said.
